Most of our games will be pay-to-play. There may be some games with free-to-play entry points, but indie games have typically done better with a pay to play model.
With this in mind we will be careful to set pricing to allow a low barrier to entry.
Some aspects of our games may be pay-to-win. Generally more powerful in game entities and items will have a higher price on both the primary market and the secondary market. We combat this through a variety of mechanisms specific to the game. For example see what we do in Heroes of Aviel here:
For those games that have pay-to-win elements, balancing the game to ensure these elements do not get out of hand is vital to the games success. A player with a budget around the same as a boxed console game (< $100) should be able to have a significant impact in any of our games.
Members will have many opportunities to earn tokens allowing them to increase their power and capabilities inside our gaming universe. As crypto tokens $OOBI can be bought, sold, and traded freely: it is theoretically possible that the tokens gained can be sold for more than the membership fees paid by the user, but we do not expect this to be the case.
It is also theoretically possible for a player to play a game find a valuable item (an NFT) and sell that item to another player for more than they paid for, we note that doing this requires another player to pay for the Item, its a zero sum game at best.
In this case the best analogy to draw is that of trading card games such as Pokémon, although some players have made money from Pokémon cards, the vast vast majority of players have not.
You should not play our games with the expectation that you will earn money.
Most, if not all, of our games will allow you to play to discover new NFTs and enhance your existing NFTs.
From time-to-time we may also offer other gameplay features, promotions, or events which allow you to gain additional NFTs by playing games and completing quests, challenges, or other in-game actions.
